A lot of sports cause neck injuries, especially those which require a lot of upper body strength and agility like football, rugby, basketball, soccer, horseback riding and the like. If you’re going to be involved in a physical sport, you should be aware that these sports cause neck injuries and you should be able to recognize one.
There are a lot of symptoms for neck injuries, some are pretty obvious like a stiff neck and shoulder and back pain, but there are also symptoms which are not noticeable at first or seems only minor. These kind of internal injuries need to be checked immediately by a doctor to prevent further damage. An injury that has been taken for granted, especially if it’s in the neck area, could lead to whiplash, or worse, even paralysis.
